Looeez decided then to change the name to “Cultureville Magazine” and to include articles and photos about all kinds of culture, not just dance. The first edition price of this purple printed magazine was 12 cents. From these humble beginnings, Cultureville has grown to a staff of 127,000 employees including photographers, journalists, financiers, administrators, researchers and monkeys. Looeez still remembers the part her first monkey played in the magazine’s success, and so she makes a point of employing down-and-out monkeys who can’t get jobs anywhere else. The magazine now is full-colour and sells for $12.95 every month.
